FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When should I book my session?

For maternity sessions, it’s best to schedule your session for around 30-35 weeks.  We want Mama’s bump to be as big as possible, but not so close to your actual due date that we risk missing our opportunity.

For newborn sessions, most parents book their photographer during the second or third trimester. The earlier, the better!

How long is a session?

Typically, sessions last an hour to 90 minutes. Newborn sessions tend to be longer, typically 2-3 hours, as we’ll have to allow time for pose and prop changes, as well as breaks for nursing/feeding and diaper changes.

How do you deliver the photos?

You will receive a downloadable and easily shareable online gallery of your professionally edited photographs.

How old should my baby be for a newborn session?

I like to schedule newborn sessions during the first 12 days of your baby’s life.

Where will my session take place?

Newborn sessions will take place in your home. I will ask where you get the best natural light in your home. For lifestyle photos ,I am open to locations such as your primary bedroom or the nursery, etc.

Outdoor maternity and family sessions take place at the agreed-upon location.

What happens if we run into bad weather?

If we have an upcoming outdoor session, I will monitor the weather. We'll connect the day before your scheduled session and postpone if needed.

I know that my child will not smile or cooperate for photos. What should we do?

One of our biggest priorities is to create a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience for you and your family. A photo session should not be stressful. We will not force your little one to do anything they don't want to do, because that won't create warm and memorable photos anyway, right? We'll play games, laugh, and make it a fun time for all. It's our job to figure out how to best capture the love and affection in your family. Unposed moments of natural interaction usually do the trick!

What should we wear?!

Something that you feel beautiful in and that brings you joy! Don’t overthink it! Think neutrals, but pops of color or patterns are nice as well! Need ideas? I work closely with families to ensure that you don't stress about what to wear and that you are completely confident in your wardrobe choices. I also provide styling guides, resources, and tips to help you out. Also, clothing changes are welcome if they fit within the scheduled session time.
